PIC positions available
Health Services Veterinarian and Health Assurance Veterinarian
PIC has two positions open for veterinarians in the Americans division: Health Services Veterinarian and Health Assurance Veterinarian. Qualifications for both positions include a degree in Veterinary Medicine; experience in swine medicine and production, with sound veterinary practical skills; experience in a multidisciplinary environment; leadership and management skills with subordinates and peers; and computer, spreadsheet, record keeping, data analysis (required), and communication and organizational skills. Must be creative problem solvers and team leaders, willing to travel both domestically and internationally.
Health Services Veterinarian responsibilities
Reports to Health Services Director at PIC Americas Headquarters, Franklin, Kentucky, or as agreed. Implements systems and processes to accomplish team mission, provides health service to customers, develops the health assurance program for the production of breeding stock within customer systems, interfaces with PIC Health Assurance and PIC Account Managers on issues concerning product sources and other health-related issues, conducts health and biosecurity audits of customers’ systems, communicates PIC health strategy, and makes specific best-practice recommendations to customers that will maximize genetic potential of PIC products.
Health Assurance Veterinarian responsibilities
Reports to Health Assurance Director at PIC Americas Headquarters, Franklin, Kentucky. Implements systems and processes to accomplish team mission, implements monitoring protocols for PIC multiplication herds to optimize system health for ultimate quality and customer satisfaction, designs disease control strategies for multiplication herds, interfaces with PIC Health Services and PIC Account Managers on issues concerning product sources and other health related issues, communicates PIC health strategy, makes specific best-practice recommendations to customers, and proposes PIC products sources for customers’ systems both domestically and internationally.

Staff Veterinarian
Swine Graphics Enterprises, a leader in the swine industry, is seeking qualified candidates for Staff Veterinarian in the southern Iowa area. This individual must possess technical expertise in swine medicine or a willingness to learn, and must be a creative thinker with attention to detail. Computer skills and swine production experience helpful, but not required. Successful candidate will be responsible for regulatory work: problem solving and diagnostics in both health- and production-related issues. Must be able to work well in a team atmosphere. The candidate must be an accredited veterinarian, be able to obtain an Iowa license, and have excellent written and interpersonal communications skills.
