Swine Veterinary Student Internship with Pipestone Veterinary Services

Pipestone Veterinary Services is offering a paid 10-12 week summer internship for 2 veterinary students interested in swine health, production, and research. Housing will be provided, based mainly out of the Pipestone, MN location. Application deadline is December 6, 2021. The summer internship provided by Pipestone Veterinary Services is a swine-focused internship. Students will be given opportunities to grow in areas of swine health, production, and research while working with veterinarians and team members at Pipestone Veterinary Services.

Deadline for USDA Fellowship Program in Food Safety Research Projects is Nov. 8

The USDA’s Office of Food Safety is offering a fellowship for graduate students wishing to pursue scientific research. Applicants should be currently pursuing a doctoral degree in food science, food safety, public health, veterinary medicine, or other relevant fields, at an accredited U.S. college, university or technical institute. AVMA Government Relations Student Externships

The AVMA extern program pairs talented veterinary students together with the AVMA Government Relations Division for a four-week program that introduces the breadth of public policy issues facing the profession and provides hands-on lobbying experience with Capitol Hill legislators and staff. Applications for 2022 are due October 8, 2021.

Students – Make Sure You’re Ready for “Day-1” as a Swine Vet

Welcome back to school! We’re excited to welcome new and returning student members to AASV! After you’ve had a chance to review the great benefits available to AASV student members, make sure you’re on track to have the knowledge and skills needed to hit the ground running on day 1 of your career as a swine veterinarian or food animal practitioner.
