Wellness Wednesday – Physical Wellbeing Tip: Get your influenza vaccine this week during National Influenza Vaccination Week (NIVW), December 4-8, 2023. NIVW is an annual observance in December to remind everyone 6 months and older that there’s still time to get vaccinated against influenza to be protected during the 2023-2024 season. Make sure you get an influenza vaccine to protect yourself, your loved ones, and the pigs you care for this flu season.

Flu viruses can spread from pigs to people and from people to pigs – how do you prevent the spread on your farm? Work with your veterinarian to develop a herd management and vaccination strategy to reduce the spread of the flu and to prevent the introduction of flu viruses between people and pigs.

Wellness Wednesday – Physical Wellbeing Tip: Drink AT LEAST half your bodyweight in ounces of water every day (cups of coffee do not count towards this total). The goal is to urinate often and clear. If plain water is too boring for you, try dropping slices of fresh fruit in your (reusable) water bottle.
