Veterinary Public Practice Externship Travel Award

The Center for Public and Corporate Veterinary Medicine with the Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine is pleased to announce the availability of funding to support the Veterinary Public Practice Externship Travel Award. The purpose of this competitive travel award is to support the education and training of veterinary students interested in pursuing a career in public health, food safety, epidemiology, or other related fields. Students selected to receive this award will be reimbursed for travel expenses up to $1000. Applications will be reviewed monthly and travel awards will be provided until funds are expended, with generous support from USDA NIFA.

Wellness Wednesday – Spiritual Wellbeing Tip: Try meditation. Even five minutes a day of mindful breathing can be beneficial. Seek out the assistance of apps like Headspace and Insight Timer for a plethora of guided meditations that do the thinking for you so you can simply relax.

Dr. Tara Donovan has ended her tenure at The Hanor Company and will be relocating to New Zealand in September to join her husband who has accepted a position as a Large Animal Veterinarian in the Taranaki region. CE: Register Now – 2023 ISU James D. McKean Swine Disease Conference

We are eager to showcase a transformed 2023 ISU McKean Swine Disease Conference. The conference will be held on Wednesday June 28, 2023 as a one day meeting prior to Iowa Swine Day, which will be held on Thursday June 29, 2023. Although the events are separate, this provides the opportunity to feature two extraordinary conferences here in Ames. Early Bird Registration ends June 11th.
