Position Announcement: Swine Veterinarian (Veterinarian I – $5,000 New Hire Bonus)

Tyson Foods Inc, the world’s largest protein producer and the second-largest food production company in the Fortune 500, is looking for a Veterinarian to join our Pork Group Technical Services team. The Pork Group Veterinarian I is primarily responsible for direct interaction with contract producers, and management company leadership in our Indiana/Ohio grow-finish operations. Daily tasks will include: oversight of all farm herd health needs; maintenance of proper swine herd health and movement verification paperwork; preservation of all veterinary client/patient relationships and veterinary feed directives; and oversight of secure pork supply plans.

Position Announcement: Senior Swine Veterinarian (Veterinarian II – $6,000 New Hire Bonus)

Tyson Foods Inc, the world’s largest protein producer and the second-largest food production company in the Fortune 500, is looking for a Senior Veterinarian to join our Pork Group Technical Services team. The Pork Group Senior Veterinarian (Veterinarian II) is responsible for ensuring the maintenance and improvement of its swine herd health, improving the production performance of the swine herd through better environment management and training, oversight of biosecurity, risk management, and disease elimination programs. This includes consulting with all levels of swine management concerning preventative and therapeutic medicine, educating Team Members on animal husbandry, physiology, environment, and animal growth, and ensuring compliance with all agricultural regulations concerning health eradication programs and animal movement.

Call for Abstracts: AASV Research Topics

Plans are underway for the 55th annual meeting of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) to take place February 24-27, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee. As part of the meeting, there will be an oral and a poster session highlighting research projects related to swine health and production (virology, bacteriology, parasitology, environment, food safety, odor, welfare, etc.). Abstracts are now being accepted to be considered for presentation during the Research Topics session, which will be held Sunday, February 25. Submissions are due August 15 (firm deadline).
