The American Association of Swine Veterinarians and MentorVet collaborated in the Spring of 2023 to offer 5 full scholarships to swine veterinarians early in their careers. After a successful pilot, AASV has now approved funding of 5 additional scholarships for early-career swine vets to participate in the 2024 MentorVet Leap program.

Leadership Opportunity: AASV District Director
Have you ever considered serving the AASV in a governing role? Or is there a member you would like to see in a leadership position within AASV? Take note: very soon, nominations for the office of AASV District Director will be sought in FIVE AASV districts. In a few weeks, each eligible voter in Districts 1 (Northeastern US: OH, PA, WV, VA, MD, DE, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, NH, VT, ME); 4 (IN, MI); 6 (IA); 8, ( NE, SD); and 10 (Mexico) will be receiving an email message containing the nomination link for their district.

Do you know a member who has demonstrated exemplary leadership and vision as they carry out their role in practice, tech services, academia, research, or another area? Someone whose actions are benefiting and leading AASV and the swine veterinary profession into the future? Nominate them for one of the following six awards to be presented in Nashville, Tennessee! Researchers: Proposals for Funding Due 12/15
The AASV Foundation plans to award up to $100,000 in 2024 to support research with direct application to the swine veterinary profession and is now receiving proposals to be considered for funding. Proposals are due by 12:00 PM Central Time on December 15, 2023, and may request a maximum of $30,000 per project.
