Position Announcement: Senior Manager of Health Assurance

AcuFast is founded on the idea that the best way to predict the future is to create it – and that’s exactly what we’re doing. AcuFast is seeking a passionate individual to drive the vision and strategy for AcuFast’s high-health platform. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and Customer Success, the Senior Manager of Health Assurance will oversee best-in-class health and biosecurity in the AcuFast genetic nucleus farms, boar studs, and multiplication pyramid for AcuFast global business. This position will collaborate with many senior AcuFast team members and will be part of our senior leadership team. The successful candidate can be located in the US or Canada.

Act Now! District Director Nominations Close Friday, December 22

Nominations are now open for positions on the AASV Board of Directors in Districts #1 (northeastern US), #4 (Indiana and Michigan), #6 (Iowa), #8 (Nebraska and South Dakota), and #10 (Mexico). Nominations must be submitted electronically. Members in these districts can log into aasv.org/members to nominate a candidate in their district. Email messages containing the nomination instructions and links have also been sent to voting members in the districts conducting nominations. Friday, December 22 is the last day to submit or change a nomination.

New Video: History of the AASV Foundation

A new video recounts the History of the AASV Foundation from its humble beginnings and $10,000 of “seed money” in the late 1980s to its position today as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization disbursing tens of thousands of dollars annually for research grants, scholarships, debt relief, and other programs benefiting the swine veterinary profession. As you watch the video, you’ll meet the many visionary leaders who had the foresight and drive to establish, promote, and expand the foundation to “ensure the future and create a legacy” for swine veterinarians.

Veterinary Students: Apply for Podcasting Opportunity by January 10

The American Association of Swine Veterinarians is once again providing an opportunity for 30 students to earn $200 each at the 2024 AASV Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee by conducting a recorded interview of an AASV speaker for podcasting. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to expand your knowledge and get to know a respected swine industry professional on a one-to-one basis.
