FDA CVM Lays Out Innovation Plan for New Animal, Veterinary Products

Much hope exists in veterinary medicine, animal industry, and food production sectors, where new technologies hold great promise, says Tracy Forfa, director of the Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Veterinary Medicine (FDA CVM). At the same time, global markets, climate change, and increased disease threats mean the food system and animal industries need to become more creative and resilient.

People on the Move: Dr. Whitney Lincoln

Effective February 5, Dr. Whitney Lincoln has joined Iowa Select Farms as the new Director of Wean-to-Market–Process Improvement, overseeing their Western Iowa wean-to-market operations while also focusing on developing and implementing production strategies to improve system performance. She was previously employed by Smithfield Foods US Hog Production, where she served as the Director of Continuous Improvement, providing strategy and leadership to production teams overseeing 700K sows and 16M grow-out pigs annually.
