AASV Position Statement: Traceability

The American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) supports mandatory pre-harvest traceability standards for swine. The AASV recognizes the importance of rapidly and efficiently responding to disease outbreaks and identifying locations housing susceptible livestock and associated movements. The AASV encourages its members to support pre-harvest traceability through the use of swine identification, premises identification, electronic movement records, and compliance with all state and federal traceability regulations.
