After AASV committees met virtually for their annual meetings in early 2021, each committee was featured in an e-letter article – the "Committee Shoat Out." (Shoat: noun. A young pig, especially one which is newly weaned. A poorly attempted play on words.) The Committee Shoat Out recognized each committee and described their accomplishments and future plans. All committees provided a written report earlier this fall to update the Board of Directors on their progress. Those reports are available on each committee’s webpage.
The AASV committees are an integral part of the leadership structure within AASV, and they also serve as a great way for members to participate in developing positions for the association, learn about critical issues, network with other members, and develop their own leadership skills.
Almost all committees need additional members who are swine veterinary practitioners.
AASV members, leaders, and staff appreciate the efforts of the volunteer members of each committee. If you are interested in learning more about the committee activities, visit the committee web pages on the AASV website.
