Spots are filling up for the seventh offering of the Executive Veterinary Program: Swine Health Management. Veterinarians seeking to gain advanced skills needed by swine industry leaders are encouraged to apply by May 5 to receive a $1,000 discount on tuition.
The first class will be held August 1, 2019. Dr. Larry Firkins and Dr. Jim Lowe, both internationally recognized swine consultants, are coordinating the course. Participants will meet in Urbana, Ill., a total of ten times, culminating on February 5, 2021. Enrollment is limited to 40 people, and the cost is $10,000.
The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine introduced the EVP certificate program in 1991. Over the past 28 years, EVP: Swine graduates have included 40% of the past presidents of AASV, 36% of the AASV Practitioner of the Year award winners, and 42% of recipients of the AASV Young Vet of the Year Award.
