AASV’s Got Talent Presentations Online

Each year at the AASV Annual Meeting, the "AASV’s Got Talent" Practice Tips seminar shares useful information to benefit the "boots-in-the-barn" veterinarian. While there are no formal proceedings papers for these practice tips, several of the participants have made their presentation slides available as part of the Swine Information Library. If your membership in the AASV is current, you can access them here: www.aasv.org/library/swineinfo/series_index.php?id=12#128. Presentations include:

  • Tips and tricks for meningeal swabs — Justin Brown, DVM
  • The 10 commandments of sow farm production — Joel Sparks, DVM, MS
  • Medical records: Balancing legality and practicality — Cara Haden, DVM
  • Jugular catheter techniques in pre-wean piglets — Heather Kittrell, DVM
  • New graduates: How to survive and not look like a fool — Daniel Gascho, DVM
  • Practice from a distance, not becoming distant — Caleb Robb, DVM, MS
  • Deep tracheal sampling technique for Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae PCR diagnostics: An alternative to laryngeal sampling — Lauren Glowzenski, MSEd, VMD
  • You ain’t from around here: Training employees from diverse and non-ag backgrounds — Neal Benjamin, DVM

AASV is grateful to Dr. Jeffrey Harker, who organized and chaired the seminar, and to the presenters for their willingness to share their knowledge and experience with their AASV colleagues, both at the meeting and online.
