Pharmacosmos is seeking a veterinarian as manager of technical services while driving demand for Uniferon, our global injectable iron brand. The position responsibilities will focus on the execution of on-site hematology evaluations, education of consulting veterinarians and farm staff, and technical support to sales and marketing. The position will also serve as primary liaison for field and academic research collaborations. Promotion of Uniferon brand through organization and execution of lectures and meetings will be a central responsibility. Additional responsibilities include supporting R&D activities and living up to pharmacovigilance responsibilities. The person is a key part of the US Uniferon team and has co-responsibility for sales targets. The position is focused on the Midwest, including but not limited to: Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, and Missouri. Works from home with 50% +/- travel. Must be close to an international airport to accommodate domestic and occasional international travel.
Responsibilities
- Develop close interactions with leading swine integrator veterinarians and independent veterinarians which increase brand exposure and drive results
- Conduct on-farm investigations of anemia and iron deficiency to eliminate full-scale and subclinical anemia
- Provide written & analytical reports of field investigations
- Present key information at local and national swine seminars, events, and trade shows
- Organize local events for educating swine producers and veterinarians
- Conduct research trials at the practical and academic level
- Promote and drive the discussion of baby pig iron supplementation levels in academic, farming and DVM journals
- Daily utilization of CRM system for all activities
- Monthly activity review and planning meetings with the US Sales and Business Director
- Collaboration with Pharmacosmos Uniferon team based in USA and Denmark
- Collaboration with pharmacovigilance and regulatory
- Lead for adverse event on-site investigations
Qualifications
- DVM degree with current or pending licensure
- Data and research trial competency
- Technical writing aptitude
- Thorough understanding of swine production, swine health, and swine metrics
- Public speaking skills
