AASV members in four districts have the opportunity to nominate candidates for the office of AASV District Director. Directors Michael Mull (District 1 – northeastern U.S.), Kerry Keffaber (District 4 – Indiana and Michigan), and Mike Senn (District 7 – Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas) will complete their second terms of office in March and are not eligible for re-election. In addition, Don Davidson (District 10 – western U.S.) will complete his first term and is eligible to serve another term. Nomination cards are being mailed to all eligible voters in these districts and must be received back in the AASV office by January 27. Potential candidates must be Active AASV members residing in the district to be represented. Affiliate, Associate, and Student members are not eligible to hold office or vote. In each district, the two nominees receiving the highest number of nominations will be placed on the ballot, subject to their consent to serve.
The district directors (twelve in all), along with the officers, form the governing board of the AASV. The Board of Directors meets twice annually to set policies and conduct association business, once in conjunction with the AASV annual meeting in March, and again in October.
