Dr. Edison Magalhaes recently accepted a position as Assistant Professor in the Iowa State University (ISU) Department of Animal Science, working from the Iowa Pork Industry Center. As the first-ever innovative swine systems faculty member in the department, his work will focus on research and extension. Dr. Magalhaes was most recently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine (VDPAM) in the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine, where he completed an MS in Veterinary Preventive Medicine and a PhD in Population Science. He received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia in Brazil.
