AMVC Management Services is accepting applications for an Associate Veterinarian to join the Swine Medicine Education Center (SMEC) and AMVC. This position is in Audubon, Iowa and will support health and production on AMVC-managed farms and applied research within the AMVC system. This position will also regularly interact with and support faculty, staff, and students at SMEC by participating in clinical instruction of domestic and international veterinary students and applied research focused on swine medicine.
Concurrently, the pursuit of an appropriate graduate degree (MS or PhD, as appropriate) and/or specialty board certification would be facilitated, and the costs of graduate study may be covered in addition to the provided base salary and benefits. The successful candidate can expect to practice veterinary medicine in a progressive swine production system in which mentorship is considered critical to developing veterinarians with the knowledge, communication, and interpersonal skills necessary to be an effective veterinarian with the ability to interact with the various stakeholders in modern swine production.

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an AVMA accredited veterinary college by June 1, 2022
- Attained or seeking State of Iowa Veterinary Licensure.
- Attained or seeking Category II Veterinary Accreditation under the USDA National Veterinary Accreditation Program.
- Demonstrated focus on swine veterinary medicine
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience practicing swine veterinary medicine
Proposed Start Date: Spring 2022 or sooner if possible.
