The Swine Health Information Center and the American Association of Swine Veterinarians will host a free webinar on Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (APP) on February 1.
APP cases have been increasing at the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Lab (ISU VDL). Multiple practitioners in the field report resurgent clinical outbreaks of APP, which have resulted in increased morbidity and mortality in production systems where it was previously well controlled. Collectively, the increase in APP cases and practitioner concern suggested the need for wider discussion and a SHIC/AASV webinar on management strategies for APP.

Marcelo Almeida, DVM, MS, PhD, Iowa State University
