Position Announcement: AASV Foundation Manager

The AASV Foundation seeks a manager to handle communications, coordinate volunteer activities, and promote its giving programs. This is a part-time position reporting to the AASV Foundation Executive Secretary/Treasurer.

Responsibilities

Communications

  • Providing news articles on Foundation activities for each issue of the AASV Journal of Swine Health and Production
  • Authoring articles covering Foundation activities during the AASV Annual Meeting, including slide presentations, JSHAP articles, press releases, awards announcements, etc.
  • Development and distribution of promotional and informational resources to the AASV membership
  • Maintain Foundation resources on the AASV web site
  • Communicate issues of importance to AASV staff, Foundation Board of Directors, Investment Committee, and membership

Volunteer coordination

  • Organizing Foundation Board of Directors and Investment Committee meetings and agendas in collaboration with the Foundation Executive Secretary/Treasurer.
  • Record, edit and distribute the minutes of Board and committee meetings
  • Coordinate the activities of the Foundation Auction Committee
  • Act as liaison between Foundation leadership and the AASV membership

Promotion

  • Provide logistical support to promote and monitor Foundation giving programs
  • Coordinate presentation of financial information to support Foundation projects, scholarships, and endowed programs.
  • Coordinate and manage the Foundation auction, golf outing and other fund-raising projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience with coordinating programs and groups
  • Possess good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Good clerical skills
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal travel expected to attend Foundation functions (auction at the AASV Annual Meeting, Foundation Golf Outing, board meetings (2 per year), and occasional work at the AASV office in Perry, Iowa as needed.
  • Lay writing experience
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills including email, web searching, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
