Topigs Norsvin USA is currently searching for a Veterinary Services Manager. This position will report to the Chief Operating Officer and provide technical expertise in health management, including biosecurity and production processes. The Veterinary Services Manager must be able to evaluate pig production systems and assist with the development and management of strategies to maintain high health and improve genetic performance. The successful candidate will be able to commit to a 50% travel schedule, including some overnight stays, and reside within the Midwest US.
Essential Functions

- Provide timely, science-based recommendations for short and long-term health management strategies, review and respond to performance metrics, and manage the budget for biosecurity monitoring and health expenses.
- Develop health and biosecurity plans, train personnel, hold personnel accountable to the plans.
- Assess the biosecurity of farms, feed mills, and transportation providers.
- Organize and manage all diagnostic testing protocols, medication, vaccination plans, and maintain database of results.
- Perform regulatory duties as required, including prescription and medical record maintenance as well as management of health certificates of inspection for animal movements.
- Communicate changes in health management protocols to all relevant customers and staff.
- Remain current on the latest technologies and discoveries in the veterinary field and establish a network of industry and academic contacts.
- Build and maintain effective professional relationships with consulting veterinarians, customer veterinarians, and other relevant industry contacts.
- Organize and facilitate meetings with Topigs Norsvin USA staff, customers, and veterinarians to communicate the health status of Topigs Norsvin herds and to describe the Topigs Norsvin health monitoring program.
Competencies
- Superior knowledge of veterinary medicine practices, principles and policies including disease diagnosis and intervention.
- Superior knowledge of swine industry standard practices of biosecurity, health management, animal care, food safety, and regulatory compliance.

Education and Experience
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from an accredited school required. Must currently be, or willing to become, licensed in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and South Dakota.
- Three years of experience in swine medicine, research, or production management preferred.
