AASV welcomes Dr. Marie Bucko to the veterinary profession! In addition to possessing a Master’s in Food Safety from Michigan State University, Dr. Bucko recently received her DVM degree from the University of Wisconsin. She accepted a position as Science and Technology Advisor for the National Pork Producers Council (NPPC). Dr. Bucko is responsible for the development and implementation of food safety programs related to potential parasitic, microbial or chemical hazards, understanding and responding to relevant pre- and post-harvest food safety and human nutrition issues, and addressing issues of animal handling in market channels.
