As a veterinarian, you already have a pretty good idea of the day-to-day requirements associated with this type of job, but here are a few we would like to highlight.

Objective:
To provide outstanding veterinary care and service to the clients of Pipestone Veterinary Services
Functions:
- Possess a broad base of knowledge and skills requisite for the practice of veterinary medicine.
- Keep abreast of industry developments and apply best practices to areas of improvement.
- Demonstrate a scientific approach that is accompanied by ethical principles that are consistent with Pipestone core values.
- Understand livestock production practices and use to actively promote animal health, animal well-being, and food safety.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Develop and maintain trusted and effective client relationships.
Activities:
- Generate an accurate diagnosis through a good history, a thorough clinical examination and appropriate diagnostic tests.
- Determine and communicate most effective treatment options and work with client to arrive at the best treatment plan.
- Design and monitor the execution of health programs, including biosecurity, surveillance, vaccination and medication.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures to ensure profitability and high-quality care for our clients.
Position specifications:
- DVM degree and a minimum of three years of experience in swine medicine and production.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English and comfortably manage Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
