Purpose/Objective: Jeff Hill, President of Livestock Welfare Strategies, has led efforts in preparing for and responding to livestock emergencies throughout the world. His presentation will focus on mass depopulation of swine by discussing depopulation system considerations, selection of depopulation technologies (slaughter plant conversion, firearms, captive bolt, electrocution, gassing systems, nitrogen foam delivery system, VSD+), site considerations, and personnel considerations.
