AMVC Swine Health Services, a swine-exclusive practice based in Frankfort, Indiana, is seeking a veterinarian to join Drs. Max Rodibaugh and Jeff Harker in a progressive swine practice serving a variety of swine clients in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois. Pork producers serviced include individual swine producers, a nutrition company, genetic companies, and contract growers. Clients are engaged in several production types, including farrow to finish, wean to finish and breed to wean.
Responsibilities will include:
- Routine herd health and production consultation aimed at developing and maintaining effective and trusted client relations
- Development and implementation of medication and vaccination protocols aligned with client needs and goals
- Ongoing, timely and progressive diagnostic services
- Health monitoring to aid clients in proactively improving overall herd health and biosecurity
- Data analysis to assist clients in improving production and profitability
- Client assistance in developing training and implementation of best animal husbandry and welfare production practices
- Delivery of Pork Quality Assurance (PQA) and Transportation Quality Assurance (TQA) training and certification
Additional opportunities could include:
- Providing veterinary service and diagnostic support to a large production management company working with both breeding herds and wean to finish contract growers
- The potential to assist in management oversite of the veterinary services
Requirements:
- Positive attitude and drive to support core values of commitment, integrity, fairness, passion and professionalism
- DVM degree from an accredited U.S. College of Veterinary Medicine
- Prior experience within production systems and swine production is preferred, however recent and new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Ability to become licensed and accredited in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Illinois
