Ready to escape the freezing weather and snow dumps of the Midwest? Come join us in paradise!
This is an opportunity for a swine veterinarian with 2+ years’ experience to join Australia’s largest swine veterinary group. Paradise is our beautiful city of Perth, located on Australia’s west coast, a vibrant city on the edge of the outback with beautiful beaches to watch the sun set over the Indian ocean.
Having graduated in the last couple of years with a passion for swine, you will most likely be working in pig practice or having cut your teeth in a production system. You will already have a basic knowledge of pig health and production but ready to make a difference in improving production performance in Australian family-run and corporate piggeries.
Whilst applying your knowledge you will also be developing new skills in herd health, production, diagnostics, pharmacology, data analysis, epidemiology, training, biosecurity and welfare.
You will enjoy and be challenged by working with our progressive clients, have the support of a large veterinary and support team and be encouraged to develop your own area of expertise within the business and industry. As a member of Apiam Animal Health, Australia’s largest production animal vet group with over 150 veterinarians, including fellow North Americans, you will also benefit from the knowledge gained by interacting and collaborating with your peers that provide vet, nutrition and genetic services to other production animal species.
Having worked flat out during a five-day week, probably flown to a different state or country and driven a thousand miles, you will get plenty of time to rejuvenate with minimal weekend work and a trip or two overseas back to North America or to Europe to expand your knowledge further.
Living in Perth is great! Vibrant lifestyle with plenty of cafes, restaurants, sporting facilities, cycling trails, wineries, schools for any kids and close enough to fly to Bali for a long weekend! We offer a salary package well above the award, incentives, paid volunteer leave, paid parental leave, fully maintained vehicle and open to anything else you need to develop your role and grow the business.
Should you be interested in the position or require further details, please contact Dr Leisa Denaro, at leisa.denaro@apiam.com.au. Two of our swine team will be in Atlanta at the AASV Annual Meeting 9-10th March and will be available to meet with you to discuss the position.
