Position Announcement: US Swine Technical Services Veterinarian

Phibro Animal Health (PAH) seeks a swine technical services veterinarian to drive demand for PAH products into the swine industry by providing expert technical support to customers and building strong ties with key influencers across the industry, including veterinarians, nutritionists, and the academic community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Phibro Sales Team to advance revenue and earnings by providing timely, expert, technical information regarding the efficacy and value of Phibro products.
  • Design vaccines, medicated feed additive programs and nutritional specialty programs with customers that will enable them to achieve maximum performance from Phibro Products.
  • Provide the global marketing team with accurate, credible and current technical information that will support the achievement of commercial objectives.
  • Assist swine production companies in the technical evaluation of production issues and then to provide logical solutions to them.
  • To participate in the conduct of research trials designed to promote the use of the PAHC product lines.
  • To positively interface with industry decision makers, influencers and key academic and scientific leaders in the US swine industry in support of Phibro products.
  • Attend trade shows and academic conferences to support and build the Phibro product lines.
  • Keep management updated on current industry issues and trends.

Key Competencies

Technical

  • Expert command of swine health
  • In depth understanding of swine production, husbandry and processing.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and manage meaningful field trials
  • Excellent understanding of current trends and issues in swine health.
  • Assist in an understanding of other species production, husbandry and processing
  • Competency in computer application, MS office etc.

Business

  • Understanding of the financial drivers of success at PAH. Recognizes the relationship between sales, marketing, operations and finance.
  • Understand the customer’s business model and its implication on decisions making and the relevance of technical information for that model.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with both decision makers and influencers (internal and external) to promote Phibro products.
  • Good understanding of industry trends

Personal

  • Self-starter who will take the initiative and will go the "extra mile" to ensure a sound outcome.
  • Excellent communicator, listens well, and is versatile in presenting technical information to different audiences with different technical knowledge levels.

  • Innovative in addressing complex problems to come up with credible, accurate and beneficial solutions

Qualifications

  • DVM degree from an accredited university
  • Advanced training and/or experience in swine health
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the US swine industry or equivalent experience working in the allied health industries.
