Registration for the 2019 Veterinary Wellbeing Summit is now open! The AVMA, American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) and Zoetis have teamed up to present the 2019 Veterinary Wellbeing Summit, "Putting the WE in Wellbeing," November 17-19, 2019, in Rosemont, Illinois.
The summit will bring together veterinary practitioners and team members, students, educators, and mental health professionals, to focus on what actions we are taking or can begin to take to foster inclusive academic and work environments that promote individual, team, practice, and organizational wellbeing.
Wellbeing topics include:
- Assessing wellbeing across lifestyles and demographics
- How a One Health perspective can reduce veterinary burnout and the risk for suicide
- Understanding how generational differences can impact the team
- Learning how to identify and refer at-risk colleagues
- The intersection of financial health and overall wellbeing
- Organizational and strategic plans for promoting wellbeing
- Vulnerability and letting go of perfectionism
- The importance of diversity and inclusion in creating a work environment that values all members of the team
The Wellbeing Summit also offers interactive CE sessions, opportunities to network with colleagues and peers, guidance from suicide experts on prevention and response strategies in the workplace, access to a private online community for ongoing wellbeing-related discussions, and much more!
