AASV and the Swine Medicine Education Center (SMEC) at Iowa State University (ISU) are excited to extend the invitation to view the "Swine Medicine Talks: An AASV and SMECast Series for Veterinary Students" to all AASV members!
For those of you that do not know about The Swine Medicine Talks, they are a 3-part swine medicine seminar series, hosted by the AASV student chapter and SMEC at ISU and funded by the AASV Student Recruitment Committee. The series is currently available by live audio/video stream to veterinary schools across North America and now to AASV members, and it is completely free! All you need is internet, the free Zoom application (which you will be prompted to download when you join the meeting), and audio and video on your computer.
The first lecture is slated for Monday, November 7th at 5:30 PM CT. Dr. Larry Coleman, a swine practitioner from Broken Bow, Nebraska and AASV’s 2015 AASV Swine Practitioner of the Year, will be presenting “Caring for Animals: It’s All About the Heart.” This will focus on how veterinarians are trained to care for animals, but little training is given on how to influence caretakers to properly care for the animals.
