Early registration for the Iowa State University Swine Disease Conference is about to close. Conference attendees can save up to $50 when they register by Friday, October 31. The conference is scheduled for November 13-14, 2014 in Ames, Iowa.
The Swine Disease Conference focuses on emerging swine pathogens and their control, improvements in diagnostics, and risk-based controls useful for on-farm health plan development. Special emphasis this year is on porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED), and the new challenges for swine veterinarians in better diagnosing and controlling this new disease that has had a tremendous impact on the US swine industry. A special tribute is planned in memory of Drs. James McKean and Scott Hurd, longtime contributors to the Swine Disease Conference, who both passed away earlier this year.
