The University of Minnesota’s ADVET-S program is offering a new course on Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDV) focusing on the assessment of biosecurity in the swine feed supply chain. This course will be held from October 6 -19, 2014. This course will be conducted by faculty from the University of Minnesota including Dr. Peter Davies, Dr. Tim Snider, and Dr. Montserrat Torremorell.
This course will explore the current knowledge and industry practices related to the transmission of PEDV and how to utilize that information to effectively assess the risks of contamination during the manufacture and distribution of swine feed and feed ingredients.
This course will feature online modules, self-assessment quizzes, a discussion site and other background materials as well as the opportunity to participate in several live discussions with experts in the field. The webinars will be recorded and made available on the course website for asynchronous viewing. Continuing education credits will be available.
Webinars will be held Tuesday October 7th and Tuesday October 14th from 6:30 – 7:30 am US Central time. There will also be a conference call discussion on Thursday October 9th at 6:30 am CT.
