Position Announcement: University Field Services Veterinarian

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University is seeking applications for a full-time Clinician, Senior Clinician, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in ambulatory medicine in the department of Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine (VDPAM). The successful candidate will join a department with 54 food-animal-focused faculty members and 120 staff employees. The person in this position will commit the majority of their time to professional practice and outreach associated with delivering and growing veterinary clinical services to clients of ISU’s Veterinary Field Services (VFS) unit while teaching 4th year veterinary students in the Field Services rotation. The current clientele of the ISU VFS unit are primarily beef cattle with lesser amounts of dairy, small ruminant, swine, and other species. The person in the position may also play a limited role in managing cases in the ISU Food Animal and Camelid Hospital. Responsibilities will also include teaching undergraduate students in Animal Science. Opportunities exist to become involved in collaborative research in food supply veterinary medicine.
