Elanco® has partnered with GlobalVetLink to upgrade the already innovative, free, web-based eVFD system; Pulmotil® became the first Veterinary Feed Directive-approved product in 1997 and the first available electronically in 2007. The next generation eVFDs simplify data entry for vets, add search features and feed mill tracking.
Normally, a veterinarian recommending Pulmotil® would need to fill out a standard VFD, which includes setting an expiration date. After the expiration and if they felt the need, the veterinarian would have to renew the VFD, re-entering all the required information. Now, because of Elanco’s latest upgrades, veterinarians can order Pulmotil® for pigs that are on the same site as those on the original VFD without losing valuable time re-entering the information. In addition, searches can now be performed within the system based either on feed mill or previous veterinarians.
The eVFD system meets all Food and Drug Administration requirements for electronic signatures: 21 CFR Part 11, 21 CFR 558.6 (a)(3) and 21 CFR 558.6 (c)(3)(4).
