Position Announcement: Director – Swine Research and Development

Our client is one of the top ten animal health companies in the world and offers an extensive range of biological products for poultry. Now, the company is expanding its expertise to products for the swine segment. This newly-created position will build a team in the discovery of next-generation quality vaccines for the swine industry. The Director of Swine Research and Development will be responsible for:

  • Licensing;
  • Collaborating with production and quality control to facilitate the transfer of projects interdepartmentally;
  • Outfitting and staffing the laboratory; and
  • Managing relationships with contract research organizations and universities that are leaders in the field of swine disease.

This position is located in the Kansas City area, and relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate.

Qualifications include: PhD +/- DVM with at least nine years of experience in virology and bacteriology related to diseases of swine with a working knowledge of molecular genetics; experience with USDA CVB commercial licensing procedures; and knowledge of biological development of veterinary vaccines, assay development and validation.
