Greg Gramer Dies Unexpectedly

Greg Gramer, DVM, husband of Marie Gramer, University of Minnesota, Associate Clinical Professor and Laboratory Diagnostician, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of July 5th. He was a veterinary school classmate of Marie’s and a small animal practitioner.

The wake will be held on Sunday, July 11th from 4 – 8pm at the Robert’s Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077 [phone: (651) 455-2035].

The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 12th at 11 am at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 749 6th Ave S, South Saint Paul, MN 55075 [phone: (651) 455-1302] with a lunch immediately following.

If you would like to mail a card to Marie, you can send it to her home address at 5955 Turtle Lake Road, St. Paul, MN 55126.

Many of you have been asking about memorials. Marie and some of her and Greg’s classmates have decided to establish a scholarship at the Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine as the preferred memorial. It is called the Class of 1997 Greg Gramer Memorial Scholarship. If you would like to contribute to the scholarship there are some options for this. You can make checks payable to "U of MN Foundation" and include a note on the check that they are for the "Gramer Scholarship" so it is designated correctly. You can deliver or mail them to Marie or to the College (CVM Development Office, 1365 Gortner Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108). There is also an online option if you prefer that option at http://www.giving.umn.edu. There is no drop down box listing the Gramer Scholarship yet, so once again you would need to note "Gramer Scholarship-CVM" in the box.

Marie is benefitting from tremendous family support and is appreciative of all the support and concern from friends and colleagues. AASV wishes to express our condolences to Marie and her family.
