Final Update from IPVS 2010

With IPVS 2010 just days away, Dr. Ernest Sanford, Conference Chair, offers the following updates and reminders. The organizing committee looks forward to seeing everyone in Vancouver!

Biosecurity for IPVS 2010

As there are ongoing outbreaks of foot-and-mouth disease, classical swine fever (hog cholera) and African swine fever in many countries at this time, we remind delegates coming from areas with active outbreaks of any of the above diseases that they are not to visit farms while in Canada. This would also mean not signing up for and going on any of the post-IPVS Technical Tours as some of these tours will involve coming into contact with susceptible livestock.

As there is no livestock in the city of Vancouver there is no danger or threat if just staying within the city limits.

Farewell Gala Banquet Closed

Tickets for the IPVS 2010 Farewell Gala Banquet are sold out. We have reached our capacity for the farewell and have had to close registration.

Hog Jog Registration Closed

Thank you for your interest in the IPVS 2010 Hog Jog. Due to exceptional interest in this event we have reached our limit of participants for the Hog Jog and can no longer accept further registrations. The waiting list is also over-extended and is now closed. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to seeing you in Vancouver.

IPVS Event Etiquette

The IPVS committees have worked tirelessly to organize a fantastic event for 2010. One of the key ingredients necessary to make the IPVS a success is the participation of the official Partner and Supporter sponsors. Without the support of our Partner and Supporter sponsors it would be very difficult to organize a Congress the size and scope of the IPVS.

There may be some companies that are not sponsors of IPVS that will attempt to take advantage of the situation by organizing events that compete directly with the IPVS and Partners’ events.

Please show your support for our Partners, Supporters and IPVS committee members by attending events that are being organized by the IPVS or by Partners and Supporters. Please make the opportunity to thank our official IPVS sponsors in person.
