Antimicrobial resistance will be the topic during both the Food Safety Symposium and the Committee on Food and Feed Safety during this year’s US Animal Health Association (USAHA) and American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians (AAVLD) annual meeting. The Symposium is scheduled for October 26, 8:00am – 12:00pm in Auditorium IV at the Four Seasons Hotel in Greensboro, NC followed at 12:30pm by the Food and Feed Safety Committee meeting.
Numerous speakers will address the subject of judicious antimicrobial use and the implications for the development of resistance. Topics will include discussions regarding veterinary curricula, NAHMS and NARMS data, and Salmonella and Campylobacter resistance.
