The National Pork Board is conducting a group sow housing survey and is in need of your help to identify producers to complete the survey. The objectives of the survey are to:
- understand the factors that contribute to successful group housing systems from an economic, production, health, well-being, and worker safety perspective, and
- gain a better understanding of sow housing systems currently in use throughout the industry.
We are looking for producers whose operations produce more than 10,000 pigs per year, house gestating sows in groups and have done so for at least 12 months, and who keep accurate production records, to complete the survey. Producers who complete the survey will be compensated $100.
If you know producers who meet the above criteria and would be interested in participating, please send their names and contact information to Sherrie Niekamp at SNiekamp@pork.org or call her at (515) 223-3533.
