Pseudorabies (PRV) test results on swine farms within a five mile radius of the second PRV positive herd near Loyal, WI in Clark County have all come back negative.
Quarantines have been removed on 35 herds tested in connection with the Loyal site. This follows last week’s announcement that 33 herds associated with the infected site in Greenwood had also been cleared.
Both infected herds have been depopulated and will be cleaned and disinfected by state and federal officials. Herds located within 2 miles of each site will be retested within 30 to 60 days and, if negative, the original farms may then repopulate.
Wisconsin should be able to retain its Stage V PRV-Free status.
