Dr. Bernadette Dunham has assumed the new roles of Director, Office of Minor Use and Minor Species (OMUMS) and Acting Deputy Center Director for FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM).
Previously, Dr. Dunham was the Deputy Director of CVM’s Office of New Animal Drug Evaluation. In her new roles, effective August 20, 2006, Dr. Dunham succeeds Dr. Andrew Beaulieu as the Director of OMUMS as Dr. Beaulieu prepares for retirement in January 2007. She will also assume the duties of former Deputy Center Director, RADM Linda Tollefson who is now the Assistant Commissioner for Science, in FDA’s Office of Science and Health Coordination. Dr. Dunham will be CVM’s Acting Deputy Center Director until there is a permanent replacement for RADM Tollefson.
Prior to joining CVM in December 2002, Dr. Dunham was the Acting Director of American Veterinary Medical Association’s Governmental Relations Division in Washington, D.C. She is also an Adjunct Professor with the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, VA.
