Effective May 1, 2006, Dr. Lyle Vogel has been named Director of the AVMA’s newly formed Animal Welfare Division; and Dr. Gail Golab has been named Associate Director.
Dr. Vogel began his duties at the AVMA in 1993 as Assistant Director in the Membership and Field Services Division, and for the last ten years has been the Director of the Scientific Activities Division.
Dr. Gail Golab joined the AVMA in 1995 as an Assistant Editor in the Publications Division, and then served as an Assistant Director in the Education and Research Division for three years. For the past five years Dr. Golab has been the Assistant Director of Professional and Public Affairs in the Communications Division of the AVMA.
