Hogg Receives AASV Foundation Heritage Award

Dr. Alex Hogg is the first recipient of the Heritage Award given by the American Association of Swine Veterinarians Foundation. The award was recently created by the AASV Foundation and is given in recognition of a lifetime of outstanding achievements in swine veterinary medicine. A life-sized, bronze sculpture of a 19-day-old gilt was presented to Dr. Hogg in Omaha, Nebraska on July 15. The bronze pig was donated by Danbred North America.

"Dr. Hogg exemplifies all that is good about the United States of America, immigrating to this country at a young age, and rising to the top of his chosen profession," said Dr. K.T. Wright, president of the AASV Foundation. While presenting the award, Dr. John Waddell, immediate past-president of AASV, stated "Dr. Hogg epitomizes the ideal of increasing the knowledge of swine veterinarians."

Dr. Hogg is a well-known and respected swine veterinarian whose career has spanned 50 years.
