Position Announcement: English/Spanish Animal Welfare Auditor – Mexico Based

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to travel, observe a variety of livestock and poultry production systems, and work directly with industry professionals to enhance animal welfare practices. This role allows you to conduct audits, provide training, and educate stakeholders on best practices in animal handling, welfare compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. By fostering a culture of responsible animal care, you will play a key role in advancing industry standards while expanding your expertise in auditing, training, and welfare assessment.

Role Description

This is a Mexico-based, hybrid contract position for an Animal Welfare Auditor who is fully bilingual (English-Spanish). The role involves:
• Conduct on-site and remote animal welfare audits using CloverLeaf and client-requested standards.
• Summarize audit findings and report compliance with animal welfare standards clearly and professionally.
• Deliver training sessions on best practices in animal welfare, compliance, and continuous improvement.
• Provide translation support, including live translation (side-by-side and, preferably, simultaneous), document translation, and client communications.
• Collaborate effectively with clients and CloverLeaf team members to address customer needs and assist with administrative and customer service tasks.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support company initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Uphold the highest standards of quality, professionalism, and integrity in all responsibilities.
This position requires (currently up to 40% with potential increases up to 80%) and sometimes extended stays. A valid passport and necessary visas are required.

Required Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish – both written and spoken.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to analyze information and solve problems effectively.
• Live translation experience (side-by-side required; simultaneous preferred).
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently, remotely, and on-site as needed.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 40-80% of the time for overnight, extended, domestic, and international travel (primarily within Latin America).
• Valid passport, visa (for U.S. travel), and driver’s license.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Strong Consideration Given To:

• Experience in livestock husbandry, or animal welfare auditing.
• Auditor certification (PAACO or another recognized animal welfare auditing certification).
• Degree in a relevant field (animal science, agriculture, food safety, or related discipline).
• At least two years of experience in animal welfare, auditing, or livestock production.
• Project management experience, with the ability to coordinate tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity/proficiency with Brazilian Portuguese is a plus.
