Join Seaboard Foods for a dynamic 2-week swine production externship in Guymon, Oklahoma.
This externship provides veterinary students with invaluable hands-on experience and comprehensive insight into production herd health. Participants will gain technical training in veterinary practices, such as blood sampling, conducting necropsies, collecting and processing diagnostic samples, and performing full tissue workups. Students will also learn to develop differential diagnoses, establish treatment plans, design health and disease elimination strategies, collaborate with production management, analyze production data, implement biosecurity protocols, and conduct veterinary, welfare, and health audits. Demonstrated experience and interest in working with swine is highly preferred.
