A Senior Associate Director of Swine Professional Services is sought to oversee and lead professional service veterinary team to provide technical support to the swine sales and marketing efforts of Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI). The position is located in St. Joseph, Missouri, and will require relocation if the successful candidate is not currently in that area.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction to Professional Services team to ensure sales goals are met through alignment of professional services team and sales force. Establish annual objectives for PSV team consistent with sales objectives as well as HMC and technical marketing objectives. Align PSV team with strategic and key accounts utilizing appropriate support tools (i.e. Synygy).

• Ensures that the department is staffed with qualified personnel. Responsible for recruiting and hiring qualified candidates to ensure all allocated positions are filled. Effectively administers salary and reward programs. Coach/mentor, develop, motivate and monitor team members' performance, to include: actionable Mag Plans, regular coaching/mentoring, and conduct timely Mag Plan reviews. Identify performance challenges, create action plans and monitor the effectiveness of these actions plan. Ensures active development plans and required technical knowledge of personnel.

• Effectively manage expenses and direct team members to invest in activities that provide highest value to customers and yield the largest ROI. Focus PSV team resources per strategic direction of the swine leadership team.

• Collaborate with Health Management Center managers (diagnostic laboratory and field research services) and marketing technical managers to ensure strategic technical projects are successfully completed utilizing existing processes and procedures. Implement improvements in processes and procedures to maximize effectiveness of resources.

• Performs all Company business in accordance with all regulations (e.g., EEO, FDA, etc.) and Company policy and procedures. When violations are noted/observed they are to be immediately reported to management. Demonstrates high ethical and professional standards with all business contacts in order to maintain BIVI's excellent reputation within the animal health community and internally.

Requirements

• One (1) to three (3) years leadership experience.

• A veterinary degree (DVM or VMD) with a minimum of eight years of experience in an animal health related position is required. Advance degree (MS, PhD) in fields related to swine production medicine, and/or an MBA preferred, and/or AAVB board certification preferred

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background

• Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)

• Must be 18 years of age or older
