Advancement in PRRS Research Award Proposal Submissions Due January 1

In keeping with annual tradition, Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. (BIVI) is announcing a call for proposal submissions for its annual Advancement in PRRS Research Award. A total amount of $75,000 will be awarded to study the profit robbing disease, Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) in an effort to control its impact. Proposal submissions are due January 1, 2012.

BIVI will provide three $25,000 awards to researchers with the winning proposals to conduct a yearlong study that will further the field applicable knowledge about PRRS. PRRS education and research has increased over the past 10 years, yet there is still more to be learned about controlling the disease. Details about past winners and submission materials can be found in the attached brochure.

The Advancement in PRRS Research Awards will be presented in March 2012 at the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) Annual Conference, which is being held in Denver, Colorado.
