Your Opinion is Needed to Help Make USDA’s 2012 National Swine Study a Success

USDA wants to hear from stakeholders of the U.S. pork industry to help develop objectives for the fifth national swine study to be conducted by USDA's National Animal Health Monitoring System (NAHMS) in collaboration with the National Agriculture Statistics Service. Your input is essential if we are to address specific needs and information gaps of those involved in swine production and research. NAHMS provides stakeholders in the private and public sectors with valuable information on disease occurrence and exposure to disease agents, management practices, productivity, knowledge gaps, and other important topics.

As with the four previous NAHMS national swine studies, the NAHMS Swine 2012 study will be national in scope, collaborative in nature, and voluntary for selected producers. Data will be held in strict confidentiality and used to generate scientifically based and statistically valid national estimates to be used for education, research, and policy development. Results from previous NAHMS national swine studies are available at: http://www.aphis.usda.gov/animal_health/nahms/swine/index.shtml
